Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 9th-floor oceanfront snowbird-friendly condo with AC, pool, hot tub, & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
