Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 19th-floor oceanfront condo with great location, beach access, hot tubs, pools has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
