Vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. A Little Piece of Heaven UNIT #1405 free wifi, close to Airport and Walmart has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
