Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfectrental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront, In the middle of happening area has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
