Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. A413 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Serene Coastal Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
