Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Finding the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Adorable Ocean Front Condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
