Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. After Dune Delight by WT Golf has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
