How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Family Friendly Condo- Beautiful Views of the Pool, Courtyard and Ocean! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
