How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Unrivaled Oceanfront Suite w/ Breathtaking Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
