Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book yourrental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Cozy 2-bedroom condo in lovely Myrtle Beach- Family Friendly, lots of pools! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
