How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the best rental home:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Amazing Condo-Completely Renovated, Ocean Front Bd,Watch Sunrise in Your Bed has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective.
