Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your family choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Private Balcony Outdoor Pool! Ocean View Condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
