Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by having your group select dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Modern Oceanfront 1Br Suite/Dogs OK has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
