Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Astonishing view great condo at Myrtlewood Villas has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
