Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. B228 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Tranquil Coastal Escape has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
