Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:
- Select your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Beach Life 50605 Summ has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
