Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your best deal:

  • Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Studio Condo with Incredible Views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
