Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Latitude Adjustment At Ocean Lakes- A Beautiful Custom Built Home At The Lakes???? has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
