Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Beachside Bliss: 1 Bdrm King Suite 11th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
