- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First, have your family select the best dates and a max budget.

- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
