How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful, fully stocked Oceanview condo and only150 yards to the beach. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
