Vacation rental tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Beautiful Ocean Front Double Queen Suite - Sea Mist Resort 20905 - Perfect for 2-4 guests! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
