Tips to get the optimal rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family commit to dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. BEAUTIFUL RUSTIC BEACH HOME WITH A GORGEOUS SUN ROOM OVERLOOKING THE CANAL has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
