Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beautiful SeaWatch Resort-Oceanfront One Bedroom Deluxe-sleeps 4 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
