How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful SeaWatch Resort-Oceanfront One Bedroom Deluxe-sleeps 4 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
