Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful spacious, upstairs unit, 2 bedrooms, 5 beds 2 baths sleeps 8 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
