Rental property booking tips:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your group choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. GORGEOUS RESORT and CONDO! Steps to the Beach! Ask about SPECIAL winter rates! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
