Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful townhome in the heart of Myrtle Beach - close to many golf courses!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is suitable for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
