Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. BEAUTIFULLY Updated OCEAN VIEW Condo at Sands Ocean Club\n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
