Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Blissful Oceanview Retreat - 1bd/1ba Condo 111207 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
During your stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
