Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beach house, sleeps 6, quick walk to Beach and close to lake has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
