Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Cozy cottage 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom. Porch, WiFi and Golf cart included. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
