Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Charming 1-bedroom condo in brilliant Myrtle Beach with AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your group.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
