Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Charming 2Bed\/2Bath Condo Surfside Beach 50% Discount for Winter Monthly Rentals has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
