Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Cherry Moon -a charming 2-bedroom condo with WiFi, AC in welcoming Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
