Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the bestrental home:
- Start by having your group decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
