Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- To find the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Newly Renovated Ocean View 2 Bdrm Condo 11th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
