Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Oceanfront King Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
