Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Cozy 2 BR Lodge Ocean Creek Resort Near Barefoot Landing has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
