Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. D04A Periwinkle Dr;5Br/3Ba; Outdoor Bar; 2min walk to beach; OL Pools/Arcade has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
