Our top Rental home booking tips:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront Condo with Breathtaking Views!!!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
