Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront Sunrise View with King Bed+Pools+Gym has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
