Strategies to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book yourvacation home:

  • Start by having your family select trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Double Balcony 14th Floor, City and Ocean View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
