Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 5th-floor condo with partial ocean view, AC, pool, lazy river, beach & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
