Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First, have your group choose date ranges and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Marsh View Condo with an Indoor Pool Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
