Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanview - 3 Bds - Indoor Waterpark - 2 Queen Bds has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your family.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
