Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental home:
- To start, have your family agree to dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Dunes Village Resort 203 - Oceanfront! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
