Tips for getting the best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First, have your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Elevated Serenity: Ocean View Ste Free Breakfast has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
