Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the best value:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Enchanting Seaside Oceanfront Suite 7th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
