Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfectrental home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Enchanting Seaside Oceanfront Suite 9th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
