Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Summer discounts! First floor! Newly renovated! Short drive to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
